The intent of this process is to create a pool of qualified candidates that could be used to fill similar positions within Correctional Service Canada.

Education :
STS-04/05: Secondary school diploma or a satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma;
or
an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
STS-08: Secondary school diploma recognized under provincial standards.
Experience:
STS-04 & STS-05 & STS-08
(1) Experience in one or more related fields to the employment. For example, handling, storage, supply and distribution, building maintenance, janitorial services, shipping/receiving. etc

(2) Experience in supervision*
* This may include planning the team’s work, evaluating performance, managing labour relations, and /or hiring employees.
Education:
Postsecondary degree and/or certificate in a field related to the work.
Experience:
• Experience in providing maintenance services
• Experience in providing laundry services
• Experience working in a warehouse
• Experience in manual labour such as machinery/equipment maintenance and/or repair
• Experience in using supply software
• Experience in using an automated warehouse inventory system
• Experience in using a financial system and/or a purchasing system
• Experience working in correctional environment (provincial, federal, centers for young offenders or others)
• Experience in training, teaching or coaching
• Experience in managing* financial resources
* May include financial analysis, budgeting, development of controls, and allocating budgets to subordinates.
• Experience in handling and storage of hazardous goods
• Experience in using motorized lifting equipment for example hand trucks, lift trucks, etc
• Experience in using word processing and spreadsheet applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel
Accreditation:
Hold a valid Class 3 driver’s permit
Valid working-at-heights certificate
Valid first aid/ Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certificate
Valid Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)
Valid certificat of dangerous of hazardous goods
Valid forklift operator certificat

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Work overtime, including on weekends, and be able to do so on short notice.
• Do shift work (for some positions).
• Travel for work.
• Work in a corrections environment involving daily contact with offenders.
• Work with offenders, including training and supervising offenders.
• Be part of the organic liquids response team (for some positions).
• Wear personal protective equipment when necessary.
• Reliability status
• Hold a valid Class 5 driver’s permit in accordance with Quebec provincial standards (for some positions)
• Must be willing and able to lift, carry and shelve items weighing up to 25 kg repeatedly during the day (for some positions)
