We are committed to providing an inclusive and barrier-free work environment, starting with the hiring process. If you need to be accommodated during any phase of the evaluation process, please use the Contact information below to request specialized accommodation. All information received in relation to accommodation will be kept confidential.
Due to the nature of our work, we ask that if you apply for a position with the RCMP, please use discretion when discussing your application with others (including on social media). Limit it to those who have a need to know such as your immediate family members, closest friends, or your employer.
Candidate may be required to travel for testing and interviews at their own expense.
In many selection processes the first step is screening. It's during the screening phase that the Assessment Board will decide whether your application will be considered further or will be rejected.
Use the Screening Questionnaire wisely, by demonstrating how you meet the Education and Experience Criteria listed under “Essential Qualifications” and “Asset Qualifications” (other qualifications). Use concrete examples by using the STAR technique, describing:
• The situation;
• The tasks you were required to achieve;
• The actions you took; and
• The results of your actions.
Do not simply answer “Yes”. Should your examples not be concrete enough or should they contain insufficient details, your application may be rejected. We will not contact you to obtain further information.
You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed. Some essential and other qualifications will be assessed through your application; it is your responsibility to provide appropriate examples to illustrate how you meet each qualification. Failing to do so will result in your application being rejected.
All communication relating to this process, including email correspondence and telephone conversations, may be used in the assessment of qualifications.
