Irrigation of plant material based on research goals.
Cleaning and disinfecting greenhouse compartments, growth chambers and incubators.
Applying bio-control products at the direction of the IPM assistant.
Mixing growing media at the direction of the Operations assistant.
Cleaning, sorting, and storing various greenhouse supplies and materials.
Programming and maintaining growth chambers and incubators.
Operating and maintaining powered machines such as soil mixers, power washers and more.
Performing routine maintenance tasks on various pieces of greenhouse equipment.
Maintaining accurate and current records of greenhouse processes and inventory

EDUCATION
- A secondary school diploma OR an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
EXPERIENCE
- Significant* experience working with crops or working in a greenhouse.
- Significant* experience working in an agricultural research setting.
- Experience operating or adjusting powered equipment and hand tools.
- Experience with record keeping using electronic and manual methods, specifically Microsoft word and excel
*Significant is defined as a minimum of 1 year.
EDUCATION
- Graduation from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in agriculture, horticulture or related field.
EXPERIENCE
- Experience working in research greenhouses.
- Experience working with oilseeds.

KNOWLEDGE
- Knowledge of safe operating procedures and Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHIMIS).
- Knowledge of daily plant care and maintenance.
- Knowledge of greenhouse irrigation practices.
- Knowledge of basic mathematics and simple calculations.
- Knowledge of greenhouse pests and pathogen.
- Knowledge of greenhouse operations.

Reliability Status security clearance
- Ability and willingness to work with cleaning products and disinfectants.
- Ability and willingness to work with hand and power tools.
- Ability and willingness to work overtime, including evenings and weekends.
- Ability and willingness to perform physically demanding work including moderate to heavy manual labour requiring bending and lifting heavy objects (up to 20kg).
- Ability and willingness to work in a laboratory, greenhouse, and/or field environments.
- Known allergies must be controlled through use of protective mask and/or medication and must not impinge on tasks to be performed.
- Possession of a valid Class 5 Saskatchewan Driver’s License.
