Duties

The role of the Senior Program Development Officer (PM 04) is one that is closely involved with the numerous and complex social issues faced today by our fellow citizens. Senior Program Development Officers duties include administration of Grants and Contributions agreements with community partners that help support jobs, training and social development. They address complex situations and manage issues based on community, labour market or employer needs; monitor and analyze project budget and financial reports, process payments and make recommendations for funding.

Senior Program Development Officers develop awareness and/or promotional strategies for departmental programs and services to the community. They participate with management in the development and decision-making of regional/local strategies, business plan exercises and/or program budgets. They establish and maintain working relationships with local, provincial and other federal government departments.

An example could be related to previous work experience or based upon an experience such as volunteering for an organization or community group.
