Duties

Main duties:
Level 2 Project Managers provide project management services in architecture or engineering projects entrusted to the department.
They bring into realization agreements with clients on the parameters (scope, time frame, budget) and pull together the required resources (internal and external experts from all disciplines, consultants, and contractors). They are tasked with the planning, design, execution, implementation and assessment of assigned projects in accordance and rules of conformity and quality.
They provide services for real property projects of all kinds: workplace layout, marine infrastructure, airport facilities, penitentiaries, heritage buildings, dredging, etc.
Project management services are provided through specific areas of expertise in architecture and engineering- landscape architecture, heritage, marine engineering-which allow to provision of quality integrated services.

Education:
AR-04: DEPENDING ON THE POSITION TO BE FILLED, the required studies are “Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in architecture from a recognized post-secondary institution” OR “Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization** in landscape architecture”.

* The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and must have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization.

EN-ENG-03: Bachelor’s degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in mechanical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, or some other engineering specialty relevant to the duties of the position.

Degree equivalency

Experience:
EXP1 - Recent* work experience in real property project management involving at least one (1) complexity **,
including elements such as timelines, budgets, requirements related to the scope, ties with
multidisciplinary consultants, collaborators, and internal specialists.

Definitions:
* “Recent experience” is defined as experience of at least three (3) years acquired in the last seven(7) years. It will be evaluated according to the duration, the variety of tasks performed and type of projects.
** «involving at least one (1) complexity», for example: high technical difficulty, projects implemented in secure facilities, high stakeholder and media interest, stringent regulatory compliance requirements, physical challenges, marine dredging, heritage considerations or comparable
complexity.

Candidates must clearly demonstrate their roles and responsibilities with respect to the experience required.

Knowledge:
CO1 - Knowledge in Project Management.

Abilities and competencies:
COMP1 - Ability to communicate effectively in writing.

scope, ties with multidisciplinary consultants, collaborators, and internal specialists. (Important : please take notice that this criteria could be used for prescreening should the overall
number of candidates be overwhelming).
2. Experience in the delivery of repair or construction of bridges or roads.
3. Experience in the delivery of wharves or breakwaters or other marine infrastructure.
4. Experience in the delivery of buildings or fit-ups.
5. Experience in the delivery of heritage conservation projects.
6. Experience in carrying out site development projects in natural and urban environments.
7. Experience in the delivery of projects in secure facilities.
8. Experience in the delivery of airport projects.
9. Experience in the delivery of environmental remediation projects.
10.Experience working with a Quality Management System.
