The intent of this process is to fill one (1) indeterminate position in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
A pool of partially qualified and essentially qualified candidates will be established and may be used for future permanent (indeterminate) and temporary (actings, specified period employment) appointments to similar positions with various employment tenures, language profiles, security requirements, and conditions of employment.

EDUCATION:
Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience
EXPERIENCE:
Experience in providing technical support to end users.
Experience with Microsoft Windows desktop, active directory and user administration of an advanced nature.
Experience with personal computer and peripheral hardware installing and configuring.
Experience with VMWare 5.1, 6.x, various Linux platforms, Windows Server, network monitoring solutions and troubleshooting.
Experience in writing one or more of the following: Standing Operating Procedures (SOPs), Procedural Guides or technical documentation.
EXPERIENCE:
Experience in performing Windows Server Active Directory Issues, Experience monitoring local area networking devices
Experience with Axios Systems “Assyst” ITSM software program.
Experience in performing Server maintenance utilizing VMWare.
Experience with shipboard server systems.
Experience with data storage array maintenance (e.g. Hitachi or HP Modern Shared Storage Array)
KNOWLEDGE:
Troubleshooting at a Tier 2 level for various server related issues in a multi-platform environment.
