Stream 1 - Labour Relations :
As a labour relations advisor, you will be called on to support managers in applying legislation, collective agreements and the Employer’s directives in order to foster a healthy work environment and harmonious working relationships.
Stream 2 - Disability, Accommodation and Accessibility :
As a disability, accommodation and accessibility advisor, you will be called on to support employees, managers and internal stakeholders in putting in place the accommodations required for employees to remain at or return to work in order to create a healthy, accessible work environment.
The positions of Labour Relations Advisor and of Disability, Accommodation and Accessibility Advisor are part of the Workplace Development and Wellness Services Directorate, within the Human Resources Branch. The collective well-being of employees is top of mind for the Workplace Development and Wellness Services Directorate. The directorate ensures a safe, healthy and productive workplace, where ECCC employees feel recognized and encouraged to maximize their potential, facing opportunities and challenges in a way that enables them to bring their best to the organization.
A pool of qualified or partially assessed candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions at this group and level with various language requirements, in various locations, with various tenures (acting, assignment/secondment, deployment, term and/or indeterminate) within Environment and Climate Change Canada.

Essential Qualification
► Education
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in human resources management, labour or industrial relations, psychology, public or business administration, organizational development, education sciences, social sciences, sociology, or in any other field relevant to the work to be performed.
Indeterminate incumbents of PE positions and of positions in the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions and in Indian Oil and Gas Canada that are equivalent to PE positions on October 1, 1999, who do not possess the education level prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standard based on their education, training and/or experience.
► Experiences - Common to both streams:
✔ EX1: Experience as a human resources advisor in interpreting the applicable legislation, collective agreements, directives and human resources policies.
✔ EX2: Experience in managing complaint files (e.g. grievances).
✔ EX3: Experience in preparing business correspondence, such as briefing notes, case summaries, written reports and formal recommendations.

**Delivering programs refers to providing services to internal clients within certain established parameters, including applying regulations and monitoring results.

AE3. Experience in providing employees, managers, clients and stakeholders with advice on injuries, illnesses, returning to work, disability and workplace accommodation.
AE4. Experience in managing accessibility, disability and accommodation cases.
AE5. Experience in engaging stakeholders, either in project management or in program delivery.
► Experience - Stream 1 - Labour Relations
AE6. Significant*** experience in providing managers, supervisors, directors and internal stakeholders* with advice and guidance on labour relations in various cases involving different labour relations issues.
