The successful candidate will report to the Manager of Strategic Planning and Investment and will be an active team member of Real Property, Environmental Management, Safety and Security branch of the department at the Northwest Atlantic Fisheries Centre in St. John’s, NL.
The intent of this process is to staff one (1) position on a term basis in St. John’s, NL at the DD-05 level. This process may also be used to establish a pool of qualified candidates and used to staff this or similar positions on an indeterminate, acting, specified period, deployment, assignment or secondment basis within Department of Fisheries and Oceans in St. John’s, NL.

ED1: Successful completion of a post-secondary college program in Engineering Technology specializing in Geomatics, Surveying, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Architectural, Landscape, or Planning or another educational program with a focus on Computer Aided Drafting specifically AutoCAD
EX1: Experience using Microsoft Office suite programs such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access
EX2: Experience in developing professional drawings in AutoCAD
K1: Knowledge of the AutoCAD program
PS1: Dependability
PS2: Judgement
AED1: Successful completion of a post-secondary degree from a recognized university with a specialization in any of the following: technology, engineering, planning, architectural, environmental, information management, project management, land/real property related, business or other discipline determined to be relevant to the position.
AEX1: Experience using Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
AEX2: Experience interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
AEX3: Experience in interpreting legal surveys
AEX4: Experience in conducting and participating in site visits to measure and update site data, floor plans and drawings, including in electronic databases
Reliability Status security clearance
• Possession of a valid driver’s license.
• Willingness to travel within the Province by car, truck, boat, helicopter that require overnight stays.
• Willingness to work overtime.
• Physically capable of conducting site inspections and traversing uneven terrain under varying weather conditions.
