The main tasks associated with this position are the production and verification of data tables, in collaboration with your colleagues and according to clients’ specifications. These extractions are made using tools developed internally by Statistics Canada and the SAS software. You will have the opportunity to develop your knowledge of the concepts associated with our main socioeconomic surveys, such as the census and the Labour force survey. We are a client service unit that offers custom services to Statistics Canada’s external clients.

EDUCATION
- Successful completion of two years of a post-secondary school program with acceptable specialization in social science*, statistics, library/archival work or a law-related field.
*Social science includes economics, political science, sociology, anthropology, history, psychology, geography, criminology, and other disciplines associated with social science. “Library/archival work” includes gallery and museum functions.
OR
- An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
EXPERIENCE
- At least 6 months of experience manipulating and analysing socioeconomic data

ASSET EXPERIENCE
-Significant experience* in data manipulation and analysis using one or more of the following softwares: Python, SAS, SPSS or R. This includes data exploration techniques, dimension reduction methods, outlier detection, etc.
*Significant experience is acquired in a work or academic context (at the graduate level) for at least six (6) months.
