Master level $22.04 to 27.73 per hour (Varies as per level of education and experience.)

Duties

Duties include performing experiments in the field of crop physiology and involves field, greenhouse and laboratory research components, analyzing data and writing reports and manuscripts as well as a thesis describing the background literature, the methodology and the results obtained.

Work environment

The first 8 months will be at the University of Guelph in Guelph, Ontario and the remaining 4 months (summer months) will be at the AAFC Research and Development Center in Harrow, Ontario. This could change throughout the years or depends on the candidate's availability or needs.

This position is for a graduate student in Crop Physiology/Agronomy. The student will be enrolled in the graduate program of the department of Plant Agriculture at the University of Guelph and will conduct research at the University of Guelph and AAFC Harrow Research and Development Centre.

Education:
Currently enrolled or eligible to enroll in a master’s program in agriculture, biology or in a discipline related to the position study subject from the University of Guelph (ON).

Degree equivalency

Experience:
 Experience* in designing experiments or developing methodologies
 Experience* in seeding, monitoring and harvesting of crops

*In the context of student recruitment in the Federal Public Service, the experience can be acquired through the studies, work experience, or volunteer activities.
