Assessment accommodation

Presently, the official location (designated workplace*) of the positons to be staffed is Place du Portage – Phase IV in the National Capital Region (NCR). However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Citizen Services Branch employees are required to work from home. When an eventual return to the workplace will be possible, there may be, at the manager’s discretion or based on operational requirements, a continued option or requirement to work from a different ESDC/Service Canada Office location or the employee’s residence. You will be required to answer screening questions to demonstrate how you meet the Essential Qualifications (Education and all Essential Experiences).
When answering the screening questions, it is not sufficient to say that you have the required qualifications or to list your current or past responsibilities. Intent of the process

The intent of this selection process is to staff two type of positions/functions :

Stream 1: Web Advisor

The Officer, Web Advisor role is to improve user experience and design user interface for our Web pages based on clients’ feedback and usability testing while ensuring that we stay compliant with the Government of Canada (GoC) Web standards. This role also consist of providing advice to stakeholders to ensure plain language and meeting other writing principles and techniques. The Officer, Web Advisor will coordinate and collaborate on Web projects with key stakeholders.

Stream 2: Senior Web Publisher
The Senior Web Publisher role is to work with the departmental web publishing team to process larger/more complex web requests (i.e. conversion of documents into HTML). They will manage web projects, perform quality control on other web publisher's web requests (to ensure web standards are adhered to), conduct web content reviews, prepare and analyze reports (e.g. web analytics, accessibility), and provide web-related advice and training to clients.

A pool will be established and may serve to staff similar position within ESDC.

STREAM 1 – Web Advisor

1. Experience coordinating and/or leading Web-based projects.

2. Experience in providing stakeholders with guidance on matters pertaining to the Web and/or application development.

3. Experience with user experience and/or user interface design (UX/UI)

4. Experience building and maintaining relationship with stakeholders.

STREAM 2 – Senior Web Publisher

1. Experience in analyzing clients’ requirements and in providing advice.

2. Experience in conducting quality control measures of new and modified web documents.

3. Experience generating and assessing web analytics reports.

4. Experience in assessing websites to ensure Web standards compliance.

5. Experience coordinating and/or leading Web-based projects.

6. Experience in creating Web content using HTML5 or later, CSS and JavaScript.

KNOWLEDGE Both Streams

Knowledge of Web Information architecture, Government of Canada (GoC) Web content style guide and Web Experience tool kit (WET).
Knowledge of website technologies used in the production and operation of websites.

ABILITIES

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS

STREAM 1 (Web Advisor)

Experience working with public facing secure portals (e.g. My Service Canada Account (MSCA), Record of Employment on the Web (ROE Web), Grants and Contribution Online Services (GCOS), etc.)

Experience in developing Web prototypes.

Experience in assisting stakeholders defining requirements.

Experience coordinating releases with stakeholders

STREAM 2 (Senior Web Publisher)

Experience with Git and GitHub.

Experience using Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) or TeamSite CMS.

Experience in developing documentation for the Web, such as training material and Web publishing aides.

Experience in delivering training or information courses related to Web publishing
