The successful candidate will analyse Arctic seabird nesting data distributed temporally (~50 years) and spatially throughout the Eastern Canadian Arctic to explore changes in common eider populations and linkages to climate change.
Environment and Climate Change Canada is a science-based department that is mandated to protect and conserve our natural environment. Within the Wildlife Research Division, we conduct research to focus on the conservation and management of Canada’s wildlife, and inform protected areas development, policy, and the Canadian public.

The student must be currently enrolled full time in a Master's program at a recognized university in a Department of Biology or another science relevant to the position with full-time student status.
*minimum of at least one year of experience in each of the following areas:
- Experience* manipulating, interpreting, processing, and/or analyzing temporal and spatial distribution data
- Experience* using at least one GIS professional software package (e.g., ESRI/ArcGIS)
- Experience* in the analysis and interpretation of Arctic nesting seabird data
English essential

- Knowledge of Arctic common eider biology and ecology is a strong asset
