The duties of a competition law officer may include:
Providing background research and participating in analysis of competition and related regulatory matters.
Participating in studies and interventions involving the gathering and analysis of information and evidence under the Competition Act.
Providing background research and assisting in the preparation of Competition Bureau input to regulatory and legislative initiatives that may impact competition.
Participating in the preparation and dissemination of information and educational resources to businesses and consumers, including by delivering presentations.
Supporting the Bureau’s international relations, including international competition enforcement and policy issues and the competition-related aspects of Canada’s free trade agreements.

EDUCATION:
A degree in law from a recognized university and eligibility for membership in the bar of any of the provinces or territories of Canada or in the Chamber of Notaries of Quebec, or a bachelor degree in economics, commerce, administration, public policy, political science or any other relevant discipline from a recognized university.
EXPERIENCE:
Experience* writing reports, summaries, briefing notes, policy reviews or analysis, or similar documents, in either an academic or work context.
Experience* conducting research or analysis.
*Experience is defined as having performed a broad range of activities.

EDUCATION:
Successful completion of university-level courses in industrial organization, competition law, criminal law or equivalent courses.
A master's degree in economics, commerce, administration, public policy, political science or any other relevant discipline from a recognized university.
EXPERIENCE:
Experience in working in competition or other regulatory law.
Experience in work in sales, marketing, planning, product management, project management, business development/integration, or equivalent functions.
Experience in working in public policy or government relations.
Experience with public speaking in a professional setting.
Experience in building and maintaining stakeholder/client relationships, including outreach to stakeholders.
