YOUR APPLICATION
When you apply, you aren’t applying for a specific position. Instead, you’re submitting your information so you can be contacted if a future opportunity comes up.
EVERYONE IS WELCOME
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) is dedicated to building an inclusive workforce with a diversity of experience, perspectives, and backgrounds that represents Canada now and in the future. We are passionate about fostering a workplace where all people feel welcome, can reach their full potential, and contribute their unique perspectives and experience to the success of the team.
BE YOURSELF
We encourage all qualified candidates to apply, regardless of race, colour, religion, sex (including gender identity and/or expression), national origin, sexual orientation, civil union or relationship status, disability, age, parental status, military service, or other status protected under federal law.
ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
IRCC is a top employer in the National Capital Region and one of the best employers to work with across Canada. The Department consistently receives positive feedback from employees who report high levels of satisfaction with their management, their work, and their career aspirations.
ABOUT THE TEAM
The advertising and marketing team helps inform Canadians, newcomers, potential immigrants and tourists about the Department’s programs and services. They are responsible for: creating advertising campaigns and marketing strategies, cultivating partnerships with external organizations, and developing and advising on marketing products. The team is in the Communications Branch, where in 2019, employees surveyed said:
• 92% have support at work to balance work and personal life
• 91% are proud of the work they do
• 89% like their job
WORK FROM WHERE YOU ARE
This team has been working remotely for over a year. We don’t know how our “office of the future” will look, but we have learned that we can work remotely. That means you don’t need to be in the National Capital Region to be considered for a role with our team.
The information you submit when you apply and your résumé will saved and available to hiring managers if they have an opportunity on their team. Please make sure your application is accurate and up-to-date.
Based on that information, if the hiring manager thinks you may be a good fit, they will contact you. They may ask for:
• more information (ex.: work samples)
• an informal interview
• references
If you meet the requirements for the position, they will offer a casual contract with the possibility of being extended.
WHAT IS A CASUAL CONTRACT?
Generally, a casual contract is a contract for no more than 90 working days per calendar year.
This gives candidates the opportunity to get experience in a Government of Canada context.
