Are you ready to take your talent scouting skills to the next level? Here's the impact you'll make and what we'll accomplish together!

As a Talent Acquisition Consultant in a market where departments and companies are increasingly vying for talented candidates, you will put your expertise and innovative approach to good use, enabling Fisheries and Oceans Canada to attract the most talented individuals to join our Department.

You are the archetypal go-between. You will find the right balance between the roles of talent scout and talent agent. You will use your know-how to guarantee that we have all the talent necessary for now and the future. Your natural curiosity, extraordinary insight, listening skills and ability to see the big picture inspire confidence in managers and candidates alike. You know what is important to them.

Work in a great location in either Victoria or Vancouver, close to parking and public transit. However, due to COVID 19, we are currently working in the comfort of our homes.

You represent the best of both worlds. Not only do you help candidates and managers, but you also develop strategies to lead projects that will take the Department forward.

Here’s how:
• As a business partner, you will strive to fully understand goals, challenges, and options related to your client groups, and you will collaborate in researching and implementing solutions.
• As a trusted consultant, you will help managers develop a customized strategy to attract and evaluate applicants.
• As a DFO brand ambassador, you will offer candidates a professional, welcoming, informative and balanced experience that reflects our culture of diversity and integration.
• As an influencer looking to the future, you will apply best practices and create new ones, you will adopt new approaches, and you will make simple improvements to the process.
• You will keep abreast of changes and trends in the Labour Market and recruitment methods, then use these observations to develop the practice of talent acquisition and define client group objectives.
