EDUCATION:
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution.
EXPERIENCE:
- Substantive* experience in planning, managing and delivery of geoscientific research.
- Substantive* experience in liaising with senior officials and technical experts at various levels in government, industry associations, private companies and non-government organizations.
- Experience in managing issues and briefing senior officials.
- Substantive* experience in directly managing human and financial resources.
* Substantive experience is defined as 3 years or more of experience.
KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge of the political, economic and social issues within the region and the impact on the Geological Survey of Canada/Lands and Minerals Sector/Natural Resources Canada.
- Knowledge of earth sciences, particularly its relevance and application to the responsible development of natural resources.
- Knowledge of how the Geological Survey of Canada/Lands and Minerals Sector activities contribute to the priorities of government within the mandate of the department.
