The intent of this process is to staff two PC-03 positions, one bilingual (CBC/CBC) and one English Essential position.
A pool of (fully or partially) qualified candidates may be established through this process to staff identical or similar positions at Natural Resources Canada with various tenures (determinate period or indeterminate), various linguistic requirements (imperative or non-imperative), various language requirements (English Essential, French Essential, English or French Essential and Bilingual) and profile(s) (BBB/BBB, CBC/CBC, CCC/CCC, etc.)), various security requirements (reliability, secret, top secret), various conditions of employment and for various locations.

Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, with acceptable specialization physical or biological science or some other science relevant to the position.
Experience
Extensive* experience in the analysis, interpretation and presentation of scientific information.
Experience in coordinating scientific projects.
Experience in working with multiple stakeholders in an environmental or natural resource field.
*Extensive is defined as a minimum of two years experience, cumulatively.

Asset Qualifications
Master’s degree or higher from a recognized post-secondary institution in a relevant area of study, such as: earth and geological sciences, forestry, (hydro)geology, geological engineering, geochemistry, natural resources management, climate change science, hydrology, and data management.
Experience coordinating scientific, technical or socio-economic advice to support federal decision-making.
Experience in working with Indigenous communities
Experience in manipulating and analyzing data using geographic information systems and databases
Experience in structured computer programming and scripting for data modelling.
Knowledge of Strategic Environmental Assessments
Knowledge of environmental assessment processes in Northern Canada
Knowledge of the Canadian mining sector, issues and trends.
Ability to compile, analyze, manipulate and interpret data sets
