All applicants for positions within the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) will be subject to a thorough security clearance process which includes an interview wherein questions may include (but not limited to) reference checks, previous employment, on-line activities, credit checks, alcohol and/or drug use.

Intent of the process

A pool of candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions within the RCMP on a permanent or temporary basis, with various linguistic profiles and various RCMP security requirements.

Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM. Information regarding the CM appointment will be sent to all applicable candidates who are within the area of selection and participated in the advertised process.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION:
Successful completion of two (2) years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in computer science, information technology (IT) or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed, or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Individuals who are on track to successfully complete their 2 years of study by July 1, 2021 are invited to apply.

In order to be appointed, they must have successfully completed their two-year program before July 1, 2021 or satisfy the acceptable combination described above.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:
Recent experience* in the analysis, design, programming and maintenance of computer applications using programming techniques, frameworks and languages such as ASP.NET MVC, REST, WEB API, C#, Angular, Java, C++, JavaScript, Typescript, Python or others.
Recent experience* with database products such as SQL Server, Postgres, MySql, Sqlite, MongoDB, Cassandra or other.
Recent experience* with software testing framework and tools such as nUnit, xUnit, Jasmine or other.
Recent experience* with version control systems, issue tracking and documentation such as Git, GitLab, Jira, Confluence or other.

* Recent experience means a wealth and breadth of experience acquired over the last five (5) years (approximately).

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS:
OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION:
Microsoft and/or Linux certification.
VMware certification.
Cisco certification.

EXPERIENCE:
Experience* in the use of computer-based communications intercept systems, digital audio intercept systems, video systems, satellite tracking systems and data capture systems.

* Experience means a wealth and breadth of experience acquired while performing the assigned duties.
