In keeping with current public health guidance, the Department of Finance Canada has established a remote work stance. While the department is working remotely, we are committed to supporting employees with the necessary tools to work effectively from home.
This inventory will be used to staff positions on an indeterminate or temporary basis at the Department of Finance Canada.

• Phase 2: Show us your stuff
If you reach this phase, your references will be contacted to validate the information you provided in your application for the competencies.
• Phase 3: Meet us
If you have what it takes, our management team will be excited to meet you to validate and further understand what we have learned about you. We may also assess what other assets you can bring to our team and where you best fit in.
• Phase 4: Congratulations!
You have met all our requirements, and an offer could be on the table. We will let you know where you stand and tell you when and if you can expect to be offered a position on our team.

EDUCATION:
A secondary school diploma.
EXPERIENCE:
E1. Experience in the use of Microsoft Office suite (Power Point, Outlook, and Word).
E2. Experience in preparing documents and manipulating data to produce reports using Excel.
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS - EDUCATION:
Successful completion of a post-secondary program related to the position (Administration, Business, Finance, Project Management, Human Resources, Communications, Security, Occupational Health and Safety or Law).
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE:
AE1. Experience working in an organization within the Public Service.
AE2. Experience working in an organization within the Public Service that is a Central Agency (Treasury Board Canada, Privy Council Office, Finances Canada or the Public Service Commission).
AE3. Experience in making travel arrangements and processing travel claims.
AE4. Experience in preparing budget reports.
AE5. Experience in screening and directing requests and documents.
AE6. Experience in providing administrative support to an organization.
AE7. Experience in providing support in one or more of the following fields: Human Resource Management, Finance, Communications, Project Management, Contracting, Security, Occupational Health and Safety.

Assessment:
(a) In making an appointment, any assessment method that is considered appropriate to determine whether a person meets the qualifications referred to in the statement of merit may be used, such as a review of past performance and accomplishments, examinations, interviews and reference checks.
(b) A top-down approach may be undertaken: Applicants who meet the essential criteria may be ranked according to the depth and breadth of qualifications they possess. Only the top ranking applicants would be invited to the next phase of assessment. Asset criteria may also be applied at the screening stage.
