The intent of this process is to fill several positions on an indeterminate basis within the Atlantic Region. A pool of qualified candidates will also be established and could be used to fill identical or similar positions of varying duration and with different linguistic profiles within Indigenous Services Canada offices within the Atlantic Region and across Canada.

EDUCATION:
- Successful completion of an approved program in Dental Therapy from a recognized Canadian institution.
EXPERIENCE:
- Significant* experience working as a Dental Therapist.
- Experience working effectively with First Nations, Inuit, or Métis.
*Significant experience is defined as approximately three (3) years of full-time employment in the applicable field of work.

Information on language requirements
KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge of the social determinants of health.
- Knowledge of dental treatment and preventive dentistry as it relates to the practice of dental therapy in the First Nation community.
- Knowledge of program support activities related to the delivery of an oral health program.
- Knowledge of current infection prevention and control practices.
ABILITIES:
- Ability to organize, implement and deliver a community-based oral health program.
- Ability to develop and deliver an oral health education and promotion program.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally.
- Ability to maintain dental records/ documents.
- Ability to use, maintain and service dental equipment.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- Willing and able to work overtime.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license or personal mobility to a degree normally associated with the possession of a driver’s license.
- Willingness to travel including by air, sea, motor vehicles including low level flying and travelling to remote locations.
