The Commissioner of Canada Elections (CCE) plays an important role in safeguarding Canadians’ trust in the democratic process. The CCE is the independent officer responsible for ensuring compliance with, and enforcement of, the Canada Elections Act and the Referendum Act. The Commissioner is supported by approximately 40 people, including federal public servants and independent contractors. The Office of the Commissioner of Canada Elections is located at 22 Eddy Street in Gatineau, Québec.
The intent of this process is to staff two (2) specified period (term) positions, a 1 year and 3 year term, with the bilingual imperative BBB/BBB linguistic requirement. A pool of fully or partially qualified candidates may be established from this process and may be used to staff similar positions at the Office of the Commissioner of Canada Elections AND Elections Canada, with varying tenures (such as indeterminate, specified period, acting, deployment, assignment/secondment), with various linguistic profiles and requirements (such as bilingual imperative - BBB/BBB, CCC/CCC) according to the position to be staffed.

Secondary school diploma

Successful completion of two years of a post-secondary school program with acceptable specialization in social science, statistics, library/archival or a law-related field or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization* in political science, law, public administration, information technology, statistics, library sciences, law enforcement, or intelligence studies.
Note: *The courses for the specialization do not necessarily have to be part of a degree program in the required specialization
Experience with analytical tools, databases or mapping software (e.g. i2Notebook, i2iBase, Access, ArcGIS).
Experience working in a law enforcement environment.
Experience of in-depth research on the Internet or open sources to gather information for investigative purposes relating to persons, companies or other assets.
Experience working in an investigative intelligence environment.
OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Secret security clearance

When the decision is made for the Office of the Commission of Canada Elections employees to return to the workplace, the successful candidates are expected to work at the traditional workplace (22 Eddy Street in Gatineau) with a possibility of combination of remote work.
