Assessment accommodation

This position is located in Toronto. The successful candidate may be able to work from any of OSFI’s offices (the one closest to their place of residence).

As a result of the global pandemic, OSFI employees are currently working from home. Should the current telework environment no longer apply, the successful candidate will be required to report to and work onsite from one of the following offices: Toronto office, Ottawa office, Montreal office or Vancouver office.

Duties

What you will be doing:
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with stakeholders to ensure cooperative and agile approach to data governance;
- Provide support to internal clients and external partners, by assessing data and/or use requests;
- Provide project management leadership on new initiatives;
- Provide support for the implementation of the Data Strategy, the identification and implementation of process improvements behind OSFI’s data governance activities;
- Provide day-to-day direction/assistance to users in understanding data governance and data management best practices;
- Keep up-to-date with data governance best practices that will support effective data management at OSFI;
- Build and maintain effective communications with internal and external stakeholders;
- Apply strong analytical and interviewing skills as they pertain to business and process re-design;
- Provide business analysis expertise to data governance operations, including identifying opportunities for process improvement (e.g. streamline review and approval processes), process documentation, process mapping, procedure documentation, clarification and documentation of roles and responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION:
- A university degree specializing in a relevant specialization OR a combination of education, experience and/or training.

Degree equivalency

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE:
- Significant experience working collaboratively with business partners to understand, analyse and articulate data or project requirements and recommend solutions.
- Significant experience in one or more of the following:
o Supporting data governance initiatives;
o Gathering and defining business requirements;
o Managing and tracking projects from start to finish;
o Negotiating between different perspectives or needs to find common solutions;
o Leading and/or providing support to committees or working groups.
o Maintaining complex processes related to data collection, use or disclosure.
- Significant experience in working in a client-service environment.

OSFI's Ottawa location is downtown with easy access to shopping, restaurants, gyms, financial institutions and more. The building is less than a five minute walk from LRT and STO stops.

As a Separate Agency, the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI) appoints employees in accordance with the Public Service Employment Act (PSEA). OSFI is named in Schedule V of the Financial Administration Act (FAA) and it offers the same pension and benefits plans as the core Federal Public Service. In addition to this, OSFI employees obtain a minimum of 4 weeks of vacation leave per year, earn a competitive salary, and are eligible for an annual performance bonus.
