Fisheries and Oceans Canada and the Canadian Coast Guard are responsible for safeguarding our waters and managing Canada's fisheries and oceans resources.
Those who are hired during the COVID-19 pandemic may be required to work from home until we are in a position to safely return to the workplace.
This selection process will be used to staff one English position on a permanent basis in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. A pool of qualified candidates will be created and may be used to staff similar positions of various tenures (permanent, temporary), language and security requirements, and conditions of employment.

EDUCATION
- Graduation with a degree from a recognized university with acceptable specialization in economics, sociology or statistics
NOTE: Candidates must always have a university degree. The courses for the specialization do not necessarily have to be part of a degree program in the required specialization. The specialization may also be obtained through an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience
EXPERIENCE
- Experience providing advice or exhibiting leadership in one of the following fields: economics, sociology and statistics
- Experience assembling statistical information (quantitative and qualitative), conducting analyses, and reporting findings using spreadsheets, reports, graphs, etc.
- Experience providing advice on the use, constraints and possibilities of data sets and their sources
