A pool of candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions within the RCMP in the National Capital Region on an indeterminate or specified period (including term, acting, or assignment) basis, with various linguistic profiles and various RCMP security clearances.
Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM.

Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.
Notes:
1.Indeterminate period incumbents of positions in the CS group on May 10, 1999, who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standards based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the CS group.
2.It is the recognized educational institution (e.g. community college, CÉGEP or university) that determines if the courses taken by a candidate correspond to two years of a post-secondary program at the institution.
3.At the manager's discretion, an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience may serve as an alternative to the minimum post-secondary education stated above. Whenever the minimum education is met using this alternative, it is met for the specific position only and must be re-assessed for other positions for which this alternative has been specified by the manager.
For Installation Stream
EX1: *Significant experience in the electronics technology field, with emphasis on security systems.
EX2: *Significant experience in the installation, programming and maintenance of technical equipment, such as computerized access control systems, intrusion detection systems and closed circuit video systems.
EX3: **Recent experience in troubleshooting and repair of electronic and electromechanical equipment, with emphasis on security systems.
For Infrastructure Stream
EX1: *Significant experience in the electronics technology field, with emphasis on servers, workstations and storage solutions to support security systems.
EX2: *Significant experience in the installation, programming and maintenance of technical equipment, such as servers, workstations and storage solutions to support computerized access control systems, intrusion detection systems and closed circuit video systems.
EX3: **Recent experience in troubleshooting, repair and upgrading end-of-life servers, workstations and storage solutions, with emphasis on security systems.
For Both Streams
EX4: **Recent experience in electronic security such as software applications, security networks and specialized interface hardware.
EX5: **Recent experience in electronic system performance analysis, problem analysis and documentation.
*Significant experience is defined as a minimum of 2 years’ experience.
**Recent refers to experience gained within the last five years.
For Both Streams
AED1: Certification in either alarm or Voice/data/video disciplines.
For Installation Stream
AEX1: Experience and/or training in locksmithing, including the installation and service of physical security hardware such as mortise locksets, cylindrical locksets, electric strikes and exit devices.
For Infrastructure Stream
AEX1: Experience administering and querying SQL databases.
AEX2: Experience in programming and/or using a software development kit (SDK) to interface between applications.
For Both Streams
AEX3: Experience using Enterprise applications to host access control systems, intrusion detection systems and closed circuit video systems.
