Assessment accommodation

This position is located in Toronto or Ottawa. As a result of the global pandemic, OSFI employees are currently working from home. Should the current telework environment no longer apply, the successful candidate will be required to report to and work onsite from one of the following offices: Toronto office or Ottawa office.

Duties

The Regulatory Data Analyst will play an important role within the Risk & Data Analytics (RDA) team at OSFI. This position will provide technical expertise and operational support to OSFI’s internal and external data stakeholders to analyze and identify data collection needs. The Regulatory Business Analysts will:

Responsibilities include:
• Ability to handle complex assignments, manage multiple tasks across a range of disciplines and work under tight timelines.
• Strong analytics, process orientation and project management skills with the ability to self-start and prioritise efforts among multiple initiatives.
• Provide support internal clients and external partners, by analyzing their data needs and providing data management expertise to optimally design the data collection.
• Liaise with internal clients to analyse their data requirements and design and implement data solutions (e.g. regulatory returns or ad hoc data inquiries).
• Ability to collect and document business requirements.
• Provide support for the implementation of the Data Strategy, the identification and implementation of process improvements behind FRFI’s data management and data collection activities.
• Provide day-to-day direction/assistance to users in understanding data governance and data management best practices.
• Provide functional support to the users of OSFI’s reporting tools (i.e. Cognos BI and Power BI).
• Keep up-to-date with data management best practices that will support effective data management at OSFI.
• Lead and manage the development and documentation of solutions to FRFI data collection and data management problems.
• Build and maintain effective communications with internal and external stakeholders.
• Apply strong analytical and interviewing skills as they pertain to business and process and re-design.
• Provide business analysis expertise to Data Management (DM) operations, including identifying opportunities for process improvement (e.g. streamline complex FRFI data collection processes, automate manual processes, clarify complex processes), process documentation, process mapping, procedure documentation, clarification and documentation of roles and responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION:
- A degree from a post-secondary institution specializing in business, commerce, economics, statistics, mathematics, data analytics, computer science, engineering or another relevant field OR an acceptable combination of education, experience and/or training.

Degree equivalency

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE:
- Recent* and significant** experience delivering Business Process Solutions independently and/or in a team environment.

As a Separate Agency, the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI) appoints employees in accordance with the Public Service Employment Act (PSEA). OSFI is named in Schedule V of the Financial Administration Act (FAA) and it offers the same pension and benefits plans as the core Federal Public Service.
