Education:
ED1. Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in mechanical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, aeronautical engineering, geological engineering, naval architecture or some other engineering specialty relevant to the duties of the position.
Occupational certification:
The possession of, or eligibility for, credentials such as a licence, certificate, registration, letter, paper(s) or other documents that constitute acceptable evidence of occupational competence. These credentials are granted by an organization legally established by federal, provincial or territorial law as a certifying or licensing body in Canada having the authority to regulate the practice of a profession, trade or act, unless otherwise provided for by the employer in these standards or in amendments to these standards.
Recognized post-secondary institution:
A public or private institution that has been given authority to grant degrees, diplomas, and other credentials by a public or private act of a provincial/territorial legislature or through a government-mandated quality assurance mechanism. For greater certainty, also included are institutions authorized to grant specific academic credentials for specific academic programs.
Experience:
E1. Experience* in planning, designing or implementing projects which support the control, monitoring, prevention or mitigation of pollution or climate change.
E2. Experience* in gathering, analysing, synthetizing and presenting scientific or engineering data, and report writing.
* Experience will be assessed in terms of the depth and breadth of activities, as well as the level of autonomy demonstrated.
N.B. – Only postgraduate experience will count towards overall experience, under graduate experience will not be considered during the assessment of responses.
Asset Qualifications - Experience
AEX1. Experience in any of the following sectors: Electricity generation, transmission and distribution; energy; transportation; thermal energy generation and combustion equipment or technologies.
AEX2. Experience working with stakeholders for the purposes of consultation or negotiations.
AEX3. Experience developing or supporting policy to control or prevent greenhouse gas emissions, air pollution or the release of chemical substances.
AEX4. Experience working in database development and Excel.
AEX5. Experience in designing, developing, or administrating regulations or other instruments under the Canadian Environmental Protection Act (CEPA), or experience in complying with, reporting on or interpreting provincial or federal regulations.
AEX6. Experience providing analytic-based advice on technical issues.
AEX7. Experience preparing recommendations for management.
AEX8. Experience in developing complex computing models using Excel.
