We are looking for motivated individuals with strong policy and writing skills to help work on priority initiatives involving amendments to key federal environmental laws. Would you describe yourself as someone who:

The intent of this process is to staff 3 positions indeterminately. A pool may be created to staff other similar positions with various tenures (indeterminate, specified period, deployment, acting, acting extensions, assignment, secondment), language requirements/linguistic profiles (Unilingual or Bilingual), and/or security status (Reliability or Secret) within Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) in the National Capital Region.

EDUCATION (Both Streams)
Graduation with a degree from a post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in economics, sociology, or statistics and a law-related field.
Candidates must always have a university degree. The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and may have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization.
The specialization may also be obtained through an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience. The experience requested through the combination must be related to legislative (statutory/regulatory) instruments (e.g. development, implementation).

EXPERIENCE
(Stream 1 - EC-05):
- EXP1 Experience conducting research and analysis related to legal or policy issues.
- EXP2 Experience in providing written advice on legal or policy issues.
(Stream 2 EC-06)
- EXP3 Recent and significant experience* conducting research and analysis related to environmental or legal issues.
- EXP4 Recent and significant* experience in providing written advice on complex** legal or policy issues.
- EXP5 Recent and significant experience* in establishing effective working relationships related to the development of law-related policy.
*Recent and significant experience is defined as experience normally associated with having performed a broad range of related activities for a period of approximately two (2) years within the last five (5) years.
**Complexity is defined in terms of depth and breadth of activities and diversity of work performed.
KNOWLEDGE (Both Streams)
- K1: Knowledge of Canadian environmental laws.
- K2 : Knowledge of the roles and responsibilities of Parliament, Cabinet Committees, central agencies and departments in developing laws.
ABILITIES
