PLEASE NOTE that if you already apply under selection process 20-DND-EA-IE-462866 posted in May 2020, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO RE-APPLY as we will review your initial application according to the new merit of criteria.
Yes, I am applying!
Do you want to become an expert in matters of contracts, construction and procurement for the Real property operations unit (RPOU) (Québec)?
Do you have an analytical mind?
Do you want to offer exceptional service to customers and manage financial resources in the contracts section?
Are you curious and knowledgeable about construction standards?
If you answered yes, apply as a Contract officer. An enriching experience and a dynamic team are waiting for you now!
The role of the RPOU within Department of national defense (DND) is to provide building and infrastructure maintenance and repair services as well as to handle the day-to-day operations of the Department's real property portfolio, which includes a wide variety of buildings such as office buildings, airports, secure communications hubs, ammunition depots, thermal power plants, road infrastructure, control towers, hangars, schools, etc.
Role of the contract section?
The contract section of the OU detachment is responsible for monitoring household maintenance contracts, legal preventive maintenance that cannot be performed by the detachment technicians, as well as setting up service contracts to execute various works in the detachment infrastructure. The section is an important tool for senior detachment management to quickly execute tasks outside of the detachment's internal capabilities when engineering design support is not required.
Prepare to move within our team!
You will have the privilege of working and supervising a dynamic team, which is ready to respond to any eventuality. Did you say action and diverse experience? Staff must travel to different sites in order to inspect maintenance work or corrective goods. In addition, section members are responsible for certain service contracts, and must schedule inspections, maintenance, or repairs. At certain times, members of the section will produce statements of requirements, and make calls for tenders under the authorization of the Contract officer.
We will be pleased to welcome you!
You will be required to show how you demonstrate the essential qualifications (i.e. Education and Experience) for the initial screening through your resume and in answering online screening questions. Rather you must clearly demonstrate HOW, WHEN, and WHERE the qualification was met through substantiation by examples. Information on your described skills, experience, etc. provided in screening questions should be supported by your resume. Failure to provide the above information in the format required may result in your application being rejected from the process.
