• Developmental position – Weighing Services Development Program (TI-02-WOCP Program Officer to TI-04-Quantity Assurance Specialist)
• Enforce Canadian Grain Commission Legislation, Policies and Directives related to support for Official Weighing*.
• Work as a collaborative team member.
• Communicate and interact with internal and external stakeholders.
• Provide training and technical support to internal and external stakeholders.
• Provide feedback and information / performance criteria to industry clients.
• Conduct Weighing Services audits at terminal elevators.
• Inspect and certify all weighing systems used to weigh grain at terminal elevators pursuant to the Weights & Measures act and the Canadian Grain Commission regulations and requirements.
• Validate all weighing documentation and records provided by terminal elevator clients to ensure accurate Certificate Final weight related information.
• Investigate potential weight related discrepancies.
• Processing weight records and documentation including entry into the Weighing Services record information management system and database for the purpose of reporting, storing, extracting and comparing of information.
*"Official Weighing" means the weighing of grain under the supervision of a person authorized by the Commission or in a manner authorized by the Commission.

The Canadian Grain Commission (CGC) is a federal department responsible to ensure the integrity and marketability of grain for the domestic and international grain trade, from producer to global customer.

- Certificate in Project Management.
- Other training or certifications in relation to: 1) record keeping; 2) note keeping; 3) traceability in processes and records; 4) auditing methods, approaches and / or techniques (such as interviewing / assessing); 5) performing tests of controls; 6) map risks associated to organization, process, or function.
Experience:
- Experience working in the grain industry.
- Experience in the operation of grain elevators and/or bulk weighing systems.
- Recent* experience working at the Canadian Grain Commission.
- Significant** experience with the use of standard business related computer software applications (word processing, spreadsheets and databases).
- Recent* and significant** experience conducting investigations, analyzing data and making recommendations.
- Recent* and significant** experience working within an ISO9001:2008 and or ISO9001:2015 Quality Management System.
- Recent* and significant** experience in writing summary reports of data.
- Experience in project management.
- Experience working in the weighing/measuring industries, electronics industry or familiarity with systems, components or instruments used in Industrial Control System (ICS) and Industrial Automation and Control System (IACS).
- Experience being a representative on a project or committee, in a key role.
- Advanced experience using analytical and statistical software (ex: Microsoft Excel, Cross-platform Reporting Software, SQL Server Reporting Service).

Reliability Status security clearance
As this position's primary focus is on development, ongoing participation and successful completion of required courses/modules and evaluations*** are required to qualify for the indeterminate full working level of Quantity Assurance Specialist (TI-04). This includes successful completion of 3 separate final assessments:
- External Lead Auditor course assessment
- All Measurement Canada required assessments and practicums to receive “designation of inspector” for the purposes of enforcement of the weights and Measures Act
- Canadian Grain Commission Weighing Services internal assessment

- Maintain, in good standing, the appropriate security level clearance for access to any work related site;
- Valid drivers' license OR personal mobility in the time and manner normally associated with possession and use of a valid driver's license;
- Ability, availability, and willingness to use personal, rental or CGC fleet vehicle in the performance of duties;
- Ability, availability and willingness to work overtime, FREQUENTLY and as required, often on short notice;
- Ability, availability and willingness to work shifts characterized by irregular hours (e.g., nights, weekends, statutory holidays) or be on standby on a 24/7 basis as required;
- Ability, availability and willingness to FREQUENTLY travel as required, often on short notice, including travel to industrial third party worksites, for extended periods regionally, nationally and at times internationally using all modes of transportation;
- Ability and willingness to be exposed to continual high levels of grain dust / soil / other related irritants (i.e. Sulphur, coal, wood pellets / chips), and to outdoor conditions in an industrial environment. Known allergies and/or environmental sensitivities must be controlled through the use of personal protective equipment and/or medication, and must not impinge upon the duties to be performed;
- Ability and willingness to work in an industrial environment under physically demanding conditions (indoor and outdoor);
