LOCATION: These positions are located in Toronto. As a result of the global pandemic, OSFI employees are currently working from home. Should the current telework environment no longer apply, the successful candidate will be required to report to and work onsite from one of the OSFI offices (Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa and Vancouver) identified at the time of appointment. Working remotely will require travel to Toronto.
What you will be doing:
The Credit Risk Division undertakes assessments of the credit exposures and related risk management practices of federally regulated financial institutions. The Principal Analyst and the Specialist in the Credit Risk Division are responsible for the assessment of credit risk activities within financial institutions and across sectors. Specifically, the Principal Analyst (RE-05) and the Specialist (RE-06) will conduct:
• Assessment of credit risk practices across financial institutions and sectors by leading (RE-06 only) and/or participating in examinations/ on-site reviews of significant credit activities, and undertaking regular credit risk monitoring activities.
• Identification of emerging credit risk issues and trends at the environmental, industry and financial institution level.

The intent of this selection process is to staff two (2) positions on an indeterminate basis at the RE-05 level as well as an anticipatory staffing process at the RE-06 level.
This selection process may be used to establish a pool of qualified candidates, which could be used to staff similar or identical positions with various linguistic profiles and requirements, security profiles and various tenures
These positions are located in Toronto, however, the successful candidates may work from one of the OSFI offices in Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa and Vancouver, to be identified at the time of appointment. Working remotely will require travel to Toronto.

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION
• A degree from a post-secondary institution with specialization in business, commerce, economics, finance, mathematics, actuarial science, accounting or other relevant field OR an acceptable combination of relevant professional industry experience and education.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
• Recent* and significant** experience in the financial services industry***, in one of the following areas:
o Credit adjudication
o Transaction structuring
o Credit risk management function (e.g., portfolio analytics, risk rating methodologies, policy development)
o Assessment of credit risk management practices in an Internal Audit, or similar function
* Recent experience is defined as experience acquired within the last three (3) years.
**Significant experience is defined in terms of both depth and breadth of experience that is normally acquired by performing the tasks continuously over a minimum period of five (5) or more years.
***Financial services industry includes experience working in a financial institution, including banks, insurance companies, pension funds, wealth management firms, and accounting firms, as well as government departments that directly deal with the supervision and regulation of these institutions, or other relevant areas.

ASSET EDUCATION
• A graduate degree from a post-secondary institution
• CFA, FRM, CPA, CMA or other relevant professional designation
ASSET EXPERIENCE

• Experience in leading project teams
• Recent* and significant** experience in the financial services industry***, in two of the following areas:
o Credit adjudication
o Transaction structuring

o Assessment of credit risk management practices in an Internal Audit, or similar function
• Experience in the following areas: retail lending, commercial lending, corporate lending, capital markets or problem loan management
• Significant experience in critiquing risk management practices and identifying key risk areas in institutions
* Recent experience is defined as experience acquired within the last three (3) years.
