EDUCATION:

• Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:

• Significant* experience in the conduct and management of audit engagements***

• Significant* experience in providing advice and recommendations to Senior Executives****

• Significant* experience in the management of human resources**

*Significant is defined as being experience in which the person’s primary responsibilities include these duties and refers to the depth and breadth, as well as the complexity of tasks that could be expected to have been obtained by carrying out the functions normally over a period of approximately five (5) years.
**Management of human resources is defined as supervision of employees, which includes assigning work, managing and assessing performance, developing and implementing training and staffing plans. Applicants must also indicate the number of personnel they supervised directly in their application.
***Audit engagements can be considered as internal audit assurance products or audit advisory / consulting engagements.
****Senior executives is defined as equivalent to, or higher than the following levels: Director General, Assistant Deputy Minister, Vice President, Board Chair, “Executive members of the C-Suite (e.g. Chief Financial Officer, Chief Information Officer, Chief Operating Officer etc.)”

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:

Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA/CMA, CPA/CGA, CPA/CA) or Certified Government Audit Professional (CGAP).

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:

• Experience in financial management*

*Financial management is defined as directly managing budgetary costs or recommending approval of expenditures and direct participation in financial planning. Applicants must indicate the size of the budget for which they had direct responsibility.

• Experience in leading the Risk-based Audit Plan.

• Experience in performing or overseeing internal audit quality assurance tasks.
