As a Technician Assistant, you will be providing assistance to our Senior Technicians while also performing minor routine repairs, maintenance and installations of police equipment and systems to a diverse fleet of police vehicles. Other duties include performing a wide variety of routine non technical tasks as required.

The intent of this process is to staff one (1) indeterminate position in Edmonton, Alberta
A qualified pool of candidates will be created and may be used to staff similar positions with various tenures (i.e. permanent or temporary) within the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM. Information regarding the CM appointment will be sent to all applicable candidates who are within the area of selection and participated in the advertised process.

*Recent and significant **professional experience working with motor vehicles, such as vehicle repair or maintenance.
*Recent and significant is defined as working for a minimum of 1 year within the last 5 years.
**Professional is defined as working for a registered company.

- Security clearance: RCMP Enhanced Reliability Status
Successful applicants will be required to obtain and maintain a RCMP Enhanced Reliability Security Clearance throughout their employment. This requires a Security/Reliability Interview, and a field investigation in matters of Criminal Activities, credit/finances, education, employment, reference, etc.
- Possession of a valid provincial driver’s license.
A driver’s abstract with no more than 2 minor violations in the last 12 months*
*The driver’s abstract will be requested during the assessment phase and may be requested again upon successful completion of the security clearance process for the successful candidate.
