Indigenous Services of Canada (ISC) provides a dynamic work environment that is open to transformation. ►This is an anticipatory process. The intent is to staff EX-01 group and level positions as per operational requirements.
Work location for position in the Ontario Region: ON RESERVE or Toronto, Ontario
►The process may be used to staff similar positions with Indigenous Services Canada / Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada with various language requirements and profiles, and in various locations in Canada.
►All federal organizations listed in the Schedules I, IV and V of the Financial Administration Act (FAA) may use this selection process to staff similar positions in their organization.

EDUCATION
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

EXPERIENCE
Significant** and recent* experience working as an Elementary School Principal.
Experience in the development and implementation of policy programs or services related to the advancement of Indigenous communities.
Experience in engaging and consulting with First Nations, Indigenous organizations, other government departments, other levels of government or the private sector.
Experience in providing strategic advice and recommendations to senior management on complex regional issues.
Significant** experience in managing human resources*** and finances****.
Experience in the development and implementation of educational programming.
Notes:
*Recent experience is defined as having been acquired within the last five (5) years.
**Significant experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with having performed a broad range of activities related to the work, which is normally acquired over a period of at least two (2) years.
***Some examples of managing human resources may include: supervising staff, establishing a vision, priorities, work plans or establishing work objectives, conducting performance assessments and feedback, approving training, demonstration of experience in managing various service delivery and resources allocation frameworks. Applicants must also indicate the number of staff they have supervised.
****Some examples of managing financial resources may include: full delegation for a budget, being responsible for financial planning, forecasting and reporting. Applicants must also indicate the size of the budget they managed directly.
ASSETS
Ability to speak Cayuga or Mohawk language.
Significant** and recent* experience working in a Federal School.
Experience in establishing and maintaining partnerships with First Nations and Indigenous organizations.
Experience in leading or implementing change management and/or transformation initiatives.

KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of the culturally relevant delivery of the elementary Ontario Curriculum.
Knowledge of Federal School priorities and challenges.
Knowledge of the socio-economic environment and cultural characteristics of Indigenous communities in Ontario, particularly Six Nations of the Grand River and Tyendinaga Territory.
Knowledge of the Government of Canada policies related to Indigenous Peoples specific to the Ontario Region.
