EDUCATION:
- Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in Economics, Sociology or Statistics
* Acceptable specialization is at least one full year course or two half-year courses in in Economics, Sociology or Statistics

The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and may have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization. The specialization may also be obtained through an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

EC-05 Experience:
Significant experience* in conducting research and analysis and providing options, recommendations, and advice to senior management on complex issues.
Significant experience* in developing and maintaining positive working relationships with a variety of partners and stakeholders.
Significant experience* in writing and editing documents (e.g. policy papers, research papers, position papers, background papers, briefing notes, presentation decks, etc.) for senior management.
Significant experience* working in a team environment.
EC-06 Experience:
Significant experience* conducting research, synthesized complex ideas, developed options and provided strategic advice and recommendations to senior management.
Significant experience* preparing and providing complex verbal and written briefings, reports, strategic advice and decision documents to senior management.
Significant experience* establishing and maintaining harmonious relationships and networks, and building consensus with partners, and representing your organization by participating in various fora/committees.
Significant experience* leading or coordinating various stages of a complex initiative or project.
Significant experience* leading project teams, working groups and/or working level discussions of a multi-disciplinary nature to reconcile different viewpoints, to integrate and influence strategies and plans, and to recommend options to decision makers.
* Significant is defined by the depth, breadth, complexity, variety and level of autonomy associated with having performed the duties at work for a period of at least 2 consecutive years.
KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge of information sources, research techniques and quantitative and qualitative analysis methods necessary for the analysis of economic policy issues.
- Knowledge of the British Columbian economy and factors that affect economic development.
- Knowledge of current federal and provincial economic programs, policies, priorities and issues with a focus on British Columbia.

Education (ASSET):
- Graduation with a Master’s degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in economics, sociology, statistics, business/commerce, political science, public policy, mathematics or a related field
