Directs and plans the development, integration, testing, implementation, support, administration, monitoring and maintenance of the departmental/agency software and database management solutions, to ensure the effective delivery of services to internal or external clients, and stakeholders.
The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) is the federal government agency responsible for administering sentences of a term of two years or more, as imposed by the courts. CSC is responsible for managing institutions of various security levels and supervising offenders under conditional release in the community.

The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC), as part of the criminal justice system and respecting the rule of law, contributes to public safety by actively encouraging and assisting offenders to become law-abiding citizens, while exercising reasonable, safe, secure and human control.
IMS' Mission is to provide CSC with the efficient and effective IM/IT services it requires to continually expand our capabilities to delivery improved business value.
The intent of this process is to staff 2 indeterminate positions in Application Services (AS) in Ottawa, Ontario and 1 indeterminate position in Enterprise Client Services (ECS) in Abbotsford, British Columbia.
A pool of partially-assessed qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions at this group and level with various language requirements listed in the Language Requirements section. In addition, this process may be used for various tenures (acting appointments, indeterminate), and various security requirements within Correctional Services Canada.

EDUCATION:
Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.
EXPERIENCE FOR BOTH STREAMS (1 AND 2):
Recent* and Significant** leadership experience in industry, or with SMEs (Subject Matter Experts) as an entrepreneur, senior manager, or senior advisor.
Recent* and Significant** management experience including managing people in a participative and team-oriented environment, budget management, investment decision, project management and administration.
Demonstrated leadership experience, using practices related to business strategy, organizational change, and program delivery to achieve organizational objectives.
Recent * is experience acquired within the last five (5) years.
Significant** is experience acquired over a period of (3) years.

EDUCATION FOR BOTH STREAMS (1 AND 2):
Graduation with an acceptable degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in IM/IT, business, management, administration, finance, or marketing. A combination of a degree in another field and extensive experience in the innovation may be considered.
