This process will be used to staff various bilingual CR-05/AS-01 positions within the RCMP in Ottawa, Ontario. Most positions are located at 73 Leikin Drive in the South-West of Ottawa (Barrhaven). This pool will not be used to staff positions outside of the RCMP.
ALL positions staffed will require a bilingual profile of BBB/BBB or higher and will require an RCMP enhanced reliability security clearance level or higher.

Bilingual - Imperative (BBB/BBB)
ALL positions staffed through this process will be BILINGUAL IMPERATIVE. There will not be any unilingual positions in this process. The minimum language level that will be required for your second language is a B level (intermediate) for a minimum profile of BBB/BBB. The C level (Advanced) may be required for some positions (CBC/CBC, CCC/CCC).
If you have already been tested by the Public Service Commission (PSC), have received a level B or higher in Reading, Writing and/or Oral interaction and your results have not expired, please ensure that you have an official copy ready to be sent to us upon request. If you have expired results, have never passed these exams and/or have not acheived at least the B level, you will be contacted and scheduled during the process. Due to the ongoing pandemic, Reading Comprehension and Written Expression SLE exams will be administered online. Candidates who are successful at the screening stage will be contacted for their valid SLE results (if any) and then those requiring testing will be invited. Candidates who require an oral evaluation will be invited only once they have been found successful in all other steps of the selection process.

ASSET EXPERIENCE - Partially qualified and qualified candidates will be asked if they possess certain assets. This asset questionnaire will be sent to candidates at the end of the process. They will be asked to demonstrate in detail, using concrete examples how they meet the assets. Please note that the assets may be used by hiring managers when making selection decisions from the pool of candidates.

Reliability Status security clearance - The pool of candidates will be used to staff positions requiring an RCMP enhanced reliability, a Secret or Top Secret clearance.
All applicants for positions within the Royal Canadian Mounted Police will be subject to a thorough security clearance process which includes an interview wherein questions may include (but not limited to), reference checks, previous employment, on-line activities, credit checks, alcohol and/or drug use.
Other Conditions of Employment may be required depending on the positions being staffed.

ASSESSMENTS:
In addition to SLE exams as stated above, please note that we will administer an online exam to all candidates, then conduct interviews that may be using a pre-recorded video submitted online by candidates and subsequently assessed by the Board Members. More information will be shared with those invited to these assessments. Reference checks will also be performed.
Our means of communication with applicants is via e-mail. It is the responsibility of the candidate to ensure accurate contact information is provided and updated as required. Candidates will be expected to answer our emails and provide the requested information within specific time frames. Failure to do so will results in the candidate no longer being considered.

Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM.
Random selection may be used.
Preference will be given to veterans and to Canadian citizens, in that order, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
