VERY IMPORTANT NOTE:
Candidates must clearly demonstrate in the experience questionnaire how they meet the education and experience factors listed as essential and asset qualifications on the Statement of Merit Criteria. In order to do so, they must write one or two paragraphs for each demonstrating how they meet them with concrete examples. A qualified candidate may be offered the position even though he/she does not meet any or all of the asset qualifications. However, asset criteria are desirable and may be invoked at any point of the staffing process by the hiring manager, including for being a deciding factor in choosing the right fit candidate.
Immediate need: 2 positions to be staffed on an indeterminate basis with a various linguistic profile. This process may be used to create a Qualified or Partially Qualified candidates as well as to fill identical or similar positions at the Department of Global Affairs Canada.

Education:
Post-secondary education relevant to the position or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience. Post-secondary education equivalency is defined as a minimum of one (1) year of experience in real property Asset Management, Property Management or Facilities Management within public or private sector organisations within the last ten (10) years combined with relevant real property training courses in Asset, Property or Facility Management.
Experience:
Minimum one (1) year experience in developing multi-year real property asset life cycle strategies and asset investment plans.
Minimum one (1) year of experience in analysing, assessing and validating real property performance data including asset physical condition data, and multi-year financial investment scenarios and profiles.
Minimum one (1) year experience in the provision of real property Asset Management advice and guidance to clients and stakeholders including the preparation of presentation materials and various business correspondence.
Minimum one (1) year of experience in the management of professional services contracts with external vendors.
Minimum one (1) year of experience in assisting in the development of Building Condition Reports (also known as Property Condition Assessments or Facility Condition Assessments).

ACCREDITATION
Industry accreditation/certification in Real Property Asset Management (i.e. IAM -Institute of Asset Management, PEMAC - Plant Engineering and Maintenance Association of Canada, or similar industry acceptable organizations and programs related to real property Asset Management).
Minimum one (1) year of experience in developing Building Condition Reports (also known as Property Condition Assessments or Facility Condition Assessments).
Minimum one (1) year of experience in utilizing Real Property Capital Planning Software such as VFA.facility or other (COTS) comparable capital planning software.
Minimum one (1) year of experience in working on real property deliverables in Asset Management in an international context in geographical regions consisting of Central and South America, Europe, Asia and Africa.
Minimum one (1) year of experience in exercising Government of Canada Delegation of Authorities for Contracting and Sections 32 and 34.
Minimum one (1) year of experience working with Government of Canada contracting and procurement guidelines and procedures to acquire Professional Services contracts.

Knowledge:
Significant* knowledge of Asset Management theories, principles and practices as they relate to the key real property data metrics of Deferred Maintenance, Current Replacement Values and Facility Condition Indices.
Significant* knowledge of the Canada Labour Code, Part II and the Canada Occupational Health and Safety Regulations or Canadian Provincial equivalents.
