The user experience design team at Statistics Canada is currently strong and growing. The team has expertise in user experience research and design, software development and analysis, interaction and graphic design. That expertise is used on projects of all sizes via ideation and business problem definition, wire framing/prototyping possible solutions and supporting development efforts.
We are searching for an innovator and leader in this domain to drive the strategic direction of this unit.

Education
Two years post-secondary diploma in Computer Science, Human Computer Interaction, Information Technology, Information Management, Industrial Design, Graphic Design, Psychology, or another relevant specialty or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Experience
EX1- Recent* experience in leading the development of enterprise class user-centred design (UCD) frameworks, methodologies, practices, principles, strategies, and tactical implementation plans.
EX2- Significant** work experience in user experience research and design.
EX3- Experience in group facilitation and/or coaching in relation to user centered research and design.
*Recent denotes experience normally acquired within the last five (5) years.
**Significant experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with full-time performance of duties for a minimum period of three (3) years
Knowledge
K1 - Knowledge of User Experience design frameworks, methodologies, practices, principles and lifecycle artifacts.
K2 - Knowledge of web information architecture, usability, accessibility, interaction design paradigms and design best practices.
K3 - Knowledge of principles, practices and techniques of financial and human resources management, administration, contract negotiation and management, and client consultation to effectively plan and manage complex IT Business Line Support service delivery activities.
