The immediate intent of this process is to staff one indeterminate position in Ottawa, ON. Due to the pandemic, we are currently working remotely. Though the position is based in Ottawa, flexible working arrangements could be considered as our working environment evolves.
A pool of qualified and partially qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions with various tenures as well as various linguistic requirements.

EDUCATION:
Graduation with a degree from a recognized university in agriculture, science or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience relevant to the position.

EXPERIENCE:
Experience in working with livestock industry stakeholders.
Experience in providing regulatory program or policy advice and recommendations to management* on national, regional and/or international issues.
Significant and recent** experience developing and maintaining collaborative working relationships with sector stakeholders and government.
Experience researching, interpreting and analyzing information from a variety of sources.
* Management is defined to be any supervisory level.
** Significant and recent experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with full-time performance or part-time performance of duties for a minimum period of 2 years within the last 5 years.
EDUCATION:
A master’s degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in a science field.
EXPERIENCE:
Experience working on projects related to animal genetics.
Bilingual - Imperative (BBB/BBB)

Knowledge of the Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada portfolio and its relationship with other governments, partners and stakeholders.
