Assessment accommodation

This position is located in Toronto. As a result of the global pandemic, OSFI employees are currently working from home. Should the current telework environment no longer apply, the successful candidate will be required to report to and work onsite from the Toronto office.

Duties

What you will be doing:
To keep pace with growing and increasingly complex demands, the Deposit Taking Supervision Sector (DTSS) is seeking a highly motivated individual with a broad financial industry and risk management perspective to participate in the supervision, analysis and assessment of the financial condition, risk profile and risk management practices of Canada’s federally regulated deposit taking financial institutions. The Principal Analyst will be a key participant in the ongoing monitoring and review of significant business line activities and control functions. This position also participates in the analysis and identification of both sound practices and emerging risk trends across financial sectors.

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION
• A degree from a post-secondary institution specializing in finance, business, commerce, economics, mathematics, computer science, data analytics, or another relevant field OR an acceptable combination of education, experience, and/or training.

Degree equivalency

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
• Recent* experience in the financial services industry** in one or more of the following key areas:
- Risk Management
- Treasury
- Regulatory Supervision
- Data Analytics including demonstrated experience in working with modern business information tools (such as Power BI) for the analysis and assessment of one or more of the following: Credit, Liquidity, or Market risk.

* Recent experience is defined as experience acquired within the last five (5) years.
**Financial services industry experience is defined as experience working in a financial institution, including banks, cooperative credit unions, trust and loan companies, as well as government departments that directly deal with the supervision and regulation of these institutions or other relevant areas.

• Experience in liquidity and/or liquidity risk management.

• Experience working with modern business information tools such as natural language processing (R or Python etc.) and visualization tools (Tableau or Power BI etc.)
