Shared Services Canada is modernizing how the Government of Canada manages its information technology (IT) infrastructure. The Department is mandated to deliver email, data centre and telecommunication services, including videoconferencing and Wi-Fi, to partner organizations.

EDUCATION:
A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution OR an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience*.

*The acceptable combination is defined as a college diploma in marketing, graphic design, web design, public relations, advertising, communications, web/new media management, marketing research or journalism with 12 months of work experience and/or training in field relevant to the position.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:

ALL STREAMS
1. Experience in creating and editing a variety of communications products for internal or external audiences such as, but not limited to: web content, news articles, posters.
2. Experience in contributing to the development and implementation of communication projects and/or activities that have multiple deliverables.
3. Experience in contributing to the provision of communications advice to clients..

STREAM 1 - Strategic communications
1. Experience in contributing to the development of presentations/information sessions to various stakeholders.
2. Experience in contributing to the development and implementation of communications plans.

STREAM 2 - Design
1. Experience in creating products while operating Adobe Creative Cloud tools (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat Pro, Premiere, AfterEffects) and the Microsoft Office suite of products.

STREAM 3 - Web
1. Experience providing web communications advice and guidance and coordinating web projects.
2. Experience in front-end web development coding using CSS, HTML, Javascript, Ajax (or other) and publishing in a Content Management System (CMS).

STREAM 4 - Social Media
1. Experience using social media management tools such as Hootsuite.
2. Experience in adapting and synthesizing large amounts of information into well-written social media posts or social media analysis reports for a variety of audiences (general public, public service, departmental).
3. Experience in planning, managing and executing social media campaigns.
