Your résumé.
Secondary school diploma or employer approved alternatives (a satisfactory score on the PSC test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma; or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience).
• Experience conducting stock assessments or catch monitoring or biological sampling.
• Experience with data entry and analysis and preparing summary reports using applicable computer software programs such as MS Excel and MS Word.
• Post-secondary training in fisheries or other relevant biological or natural resource science(s) (including certificates, diplomas and/or degrees)
• Experience conducting stock assessments or catch monitoring or biological sampling of anadromous salmonids.
• Significant* experience in the operation or maintenance of power driven (jet and propeller) vessels.
• Experience operating and maintaining field equipment including boats, motors and vehicles.
• Experience operating and maintaining biological sampling and mechanical equipment.
• Experience working in remote locations.
• Experience analyzing data and preparing summary reports using Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) or MS Access.
• Experience in database management or design.
• Experience in working with the public.
• Experience in working with First Nations and other government agencies.
• Experience providing training or educational sessions.
• Experience directing technical support personnel.
• Experience giving presentations to technical and non-technical groups.
• Experience planning, monitoring and organizing projects.
*‘Significant experience’ is understood to mean the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with having performed the full range of activities related to the individual qualification.

• A valid BC Driver's Licence (or equivalent)

• Valid CCG Pleasure Craft Operator Card
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, shiftwork or variable hours as required to meet operational needs.
• Willingness to work and live in remote field camps, often under challenging conditions such as inclement weather, with limited amenities for extended periods of time.
• Willingness to work in and around lakes and swiftwater environments
• Willingness to participate in periods of strenuous physical work, associated with field activities and equipment maintenance
• Willingness to drive long distances
• Willingness to fly in helicopters and small fixed wing aircraft
• Attain and maintain certifications as may be required to meet Departmental health and safety standards.
