- Leads the development and implementation of several national programs including firefighter proficiency training; DND firefighter training; Fire Service clothing and protective equipment; firefighting equipment; vehicle standardization; firefighter wellness and respiratory protection.
- Interprets various regulations, policies, standards and guidelines in order to explain potential implications on program development.
- Leads and directs the collaborative development of integrated HR, business and financial plans and priorities for the Fire and Respiratory Protection Programs.
- Provides expert advice, information, recommendations and briefings to the Canadian Forces Fire Marshal and senior management on key influences and issues affecting strategies, plans and priorities of the programs.
- Researches, drafts and promulgates policies, directives and standards relevant to the full spectrum of the Fire and Respiratory Protection Programs components.
- Manages the financial resources of the Canadian Forces Fire Marshal organization.
- Represents Management and advises Treasury Board as the Employer during collective bargaining negotiations for Department of National Defence firefighters.
- Advises the Canadian Forces Fire Marshal on the application of civilian policies and labour relations matters of national interest for Department of National Defence firefighters.

EDU1 – Graduation with a degree from a recognized university.
EXPERIENCE
E1 – Significant* experience in fire service management or operations.
E2 – Experience developing technical documents and developing recommendations for senior management**
E3 – Significant* experience in managing human and financial resources.
* ‘Significant’ is defined as the depth and breadth of experience associated with having performed a broad range of relevant activities over approximately two (2) years.
** ‘Senior management’ is defined as Director level or above.
KNOWLEDGE
