GL-LAS-05 AND GS-STS-04:Handling, sorting and transport of materials as part of the operation of a commercial laundry or sorting and distribution center.
GS-STS-04 Only: Driving a vehicle to ensure transportation to and from the clients.
The employee will work for CORCAN in a correctional environment in collaboration with co-workers and offenders. CORCAN is a program aimed at improving the employment and employability skills of offenders. The work environment is an industrial laundry room as well as a sorting and distribution center. GS-STS-04 also transports laundry to and from client facilities and sites.
This process aims to create a pool of qualified candidates to staff positions (casual ( 90 days), term, indeterminate) with various language profile within Correctionnal Service Canada.

EDUCATION
A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience.
EXPERIENCE
Experience working in a manufacturing, industrial, construction or related field.
EXPERIENCES
Experience in receiving and shipping.
Experience in supervising a work unit.
Experience in working with a clientele that is isolated from the labour market and has employability needs such as clients in the judicial system, mental health, Indigenous peoples, Ethnocultural groups or others.
Experience working in a correctional setting.
Experience in transferring knowledge and skills to other persons.
Experience of at least 6 months as a laundry worker.
Experience in the operation and use of a tailgate type lifting platform.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Be willing to work overtime occasionally and on holidays.
Reliability status
Be able and willing to lift up to 20 kg in compliance with safe work practice.
GS STS 04: A valid driver's licence - class 3 -from Quebec or in the province or territory or residence may be required to some positions.
