This selection process will be used to staff positions within the Canadian Coast Guard in Victoria, BC. A pool of qualified candidates will be created and may be used to staff similar positions, on a temporary or permanent basis.

Possession of a valid Inter-Provincial journeyman trade certification in painting/sandblasting.
Experience in grit blasting and coating application equipment while using air supply apparatus.
Experience in the use of conventional and airless paint application equipment, rollers and brushes, to achieve specific wet and dry film thickness of various coatings.

Experience in the construction, modification, maintenance, repair, or life cycle management of CCG Aids to Navigation, associated facilities or assets

Valid Health Canada Medical
Willing and able to travel for up to 3 week periods of time to remote sites via trucks, boats and aircraft
Willing and able to work weekends, overtime and travel on short notice
Willing and able to access remote sites over rugged terrain and work outdoors in extremes of environmental conditions on land and at sea
Valid driver’s licence
Ability to climb towers and work at heights in excess of 2.4m
