In your PSRS questionnaire responses, clarity, coherence, conciseness as well as appropriate attention to detail (spelling, grammar and relevance to the factor being substantiated) WILL be used to evaluate your ability to communicate effectively in writing.
When submitting your application, in addition to the screening questions related to the education and experience criteria (Essentials and / or ASSETS) you will need to ensure that you answer the questions that assess the merit criteria identified below in a maximum of 600 words. The WRITTEN COMMUNICATION will be assessed through your responses.

Stream 1– ATIP Division
Deliver privacy program and services to allow the public access to departmental documents; protect personal information held by the Department; and manage related projects. Process complex Privacy Act requests in keeping with the legislation. Contribute to the administration of the department’s Access to Information and Privacy (ATIP) programs and services. Conduct research into evolving privacy issues and makes recommendations for decision-making purposes.
Stream 2 - Privacy Management Division

Stream 2 – Privacy Management Division
The Privacy Management Division (PMD), located within the Corporate Services Branch, serves both Health Canada (HC) and the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) is looking for a dynamic Senior Privacy Advisor.
PMD works closely with groups across HC and PHAC to advise on a wide variety of privacy matters, including risk identification and mitigation, to comply with the Privacy Act and related policies and directives. We are a small (but mighty!) team that works on interesting and diverse issues that touch all Canadians.
The immediate intent of this process is to fill two PM-04 positions on an indeterminate (permanent) basis:
• Stream 1 - one (1) Senior ATIP Analyst, Access to Information and Privacy (ATIP) Division
• Stream 2 - one (1) Analyst, Privacy Management Division (PMD)
This selection process may be used to staff similar positions at this group and level with various linguistic profiles and various tenures (Indeterminate, Specified Period, Deployment, Acting, Assignment, and Secondment) within Health Canada and the Public Health Agency of Canada. EXPERIENCE
Stream 1 and 2
EXP1: Significant* experience in administering and interpreting the Privacy Act or other similar legislation (e.g. Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIPA), Personal Information and Protection of Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), etc.)
EXP 2: Significant* experience in analyzing and reviewing sensitive information, within the formalized privacy processes, for the purpose of making disclosure recommendations based on the Privacy Act or other similar legislation (noted above).
EXP 3: Significant* experience in negotiating information disclosures with dissenting parties, such as requesters, departmental officials, managers, third parties, or investigators.
Stream 2 only
EXP 4: Experience in drafting formal written material such as reports, briefing notes, and external correspondence.
*Significant is defined as the performing of these tasks as primary duties on a full-time basis for a period of two (2) years or 24 months.
