Duties

Responsibilities of the position include: to conduct research experiments according to research plans and tasks to conduct studies with insects and plants (as cover and rotation crops), maintain the insect colonies and grow plants required for experiments; collect data, perform data analysis from experiment and report results as well as write research reports and manuscripts.

Work environment

Work will be conducted in the London Research and Development Center in lab, greenhouse and semi-field environments, and at off-site locations in southern Ontario working at the project that will involve using plants, insects, soil and chemical solutions.

EDUCATION:
Currently enrolled/or willing to enroll in a Master’s program in biology at Western University, London, Ontario.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:
Experience with insect-plant studies.
Experience performing lab duties related to agriculture or plant science or chemistry.
Experience identifying insects, soil sampling, or chemical analyses.

Note: In the context of student recruitment in the Federal Public Service, the experience can be acquired through the studies, work experience, or volunteer activities.
