As the Communications Advisor, you will be part of a small but dynamic regional communications team. You will be responsible for internal communications for the region; planning and supporting ministerial events; writing and editing communications products; and supporting regional and national initiatives in an environment that is evolving in unprecedented ways.
A list of partially or fully qualified candidates may be created to staff identical or similar positions with various linguistic profiles, various security requirements (reliability or secret) as well as various tenures (indeterminate, acting, term, deployment, assignment, and secondment) within the department of Canadian Heritage.

◾ EDUCATION:
- A degree* from a recognized post-secondary institution or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
The term “degree” refers to baccalaureate, master’s or earned doctorate as established by educational authorities.
◾ EXPERIENCE:
- Experience writing communications products, such as media lines, news releases, speeches, internal messages, web and social media content.
- Experience in coordinating communications activities (virtual or in-person) such as public events, press conferences, stakeholder consultations and ministerial announcements.
- Experience in providing communications services to clients, such as media monitoring, media relations or media analysis; internal communications; graphic design; speechwriting; and strategic communications.
- Experience providing strategic advice and guidance to clients and management.
◾ ASSET QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience using graphic design software and creating graphics for publications, web content, intranet or promotional products.
- Experience in direct interaction with the media, in particular in coordinating interviews with the media and providing information to journalists.
- Experience writing communications plans.
- Experience writing speeches for senior management.
- Experience as a member of or working closely with:
•special event organizing committees, or
•municipalities or provincial and territorial governments, or
•other federal agencies/departments or federal regional offices
- Experience in employee/internal communications such as developing or managing content for an employee intranet, developing or implementing internal communication strategies.
- Experience using platforms (Zoom, Teams, Skype, etc.) for virtual events.
