Duties

TECHNOLOGY SERVICES / ANALYST
• Application Web Infrastructure Services (Middleware (Web Servers, Location Servers, Application Servers) - maintain and support middleware technologies for application and Web platforms such as SharePoint and Apache
• CHD (Help Desk, LAN Administrator) – Provide level one technical support related to IT software, hardware, or connectivity issues by phone and email to RCMP employees
• Cloud Platform Services (O365, SharePoint, Dynamics, PowerApps) – maintain and support platform services in the cloud.
• User Computing Device / Lan Administrator (User hardware/ software (workstations, laptops, mobile devices, Peripherals) - imaging, configuring and Integrating devices including peripherals

PROGRAMMER / ANALYST
• Programming languages (.Net, Java, Python, COBOL, other)
• Web-based collaboration platform
• Open Source Development Tools
• Customer Relationship Management (Dynamics CRM)
• ERP (SAP, PeopleSoft)
• Power Platform (PowerApps, Power Portals, Power Automate, PowerBI)
• Cloud Operations – Service Developer - Cloud administration, automation and integration to provide and maintain cloud infrastructure
• Quality Control (Testing and Q&A)

DATA ANALYST/ DATA ARCHITECT
• Big Data Management - Work in the capacity planning, development, testing, installation, and upgrades of the IBM InfoSphere, Microfocus IDOL and SAP Hana toolsets.
• Enterprise Architecture – A good understanding of an array of technologies, including cloud and its associated service models, to provide central guidance on the evolution of enterprise-based services within the RCMP.
• Artificial Intelligence and Internet of Things
• Data Analytics - Assemble and decipher insights from data. Will be working with business intelligence tools and developing key analytical deliverables for large data sets.

DATABASE ANALYST
• Database Administration (Oracle, DB2, MS-SQL, etc.) - The role may include capacity planning, installation, configuration, database design, migration, performance monitoring, security, troubleshooting, as well as backup and data recovery.

IT SECURITY ANALYST
• It Security - investigate suspicious and potentially malicious activity within the networks and systems.
• Identity and Access Management - create, distribute, track, recover, audit and revoke keys for the Public Key Infrastructure Certificate Authority. This group is also responsible for all RCMP PKI infrastructure and services.

RADIO & COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY SERVICES ANALYST
• Point-to-point - radio coverage testing and analysis
• Land Mobile - Radio technologies, plan, design, implement and support radio systems
• Wireless - Antennas, filtering, amplifiers, transceivers, etc.
• Maintenance and support of radio infrastructure
• Communication Towers – maintenance and installation of associated equipment

Examples include: help desk support, application development of policing tools, IT security, radio communication infrastructure, and IT architecture. The RCMP IM/IT Program is responsible for providing the IT tools, services, and solutions for the law enforcement community to fight crime across Canada and internationally. Intent of the process

A pool of partially qualified candidates will be established and may be used to staff similar positions within the RCMP in the National Capital Region on an indeterminate or specified period (including term, acting, or assignment) basis, with various linguistic profiles and various RCMP security clearances. Depending on the position being staffed, additional qualifications may be required by the hiring manager. Applicants will be provided with the opportunity to submit information relevant to any additional qualifications that may be applied.

Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM. Information regarding the CM appointment will be sent to all applicable candidates who are within the area of selection and participated in the advertised process.

Note: Given the pandemic situation, RCMP, as most organizations are able to benefit from working remotely at this time. However, employees might be required to physically go in the office as some position are essential and operational.
