The salary is negotiable upon entry into the public service (within the range specified above).

The intent of the process is to staff one (1) position on an indeterminate basis. A pool of qualified candidates may be established and used to fill similar positions with various tenures, security profiles and linguistic requirements within Fisheries and Oceans Canada.

Education:
A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives (see Note 1).
Notes:
1.The employer-approved alternatives to a secondary school diploma are:
•A satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma; or
•An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Experience:
Significant* experience working in a COMSEC program (providing advice and guidance, establishing procedures, troubleshooting of secure communications devices, etc.).
Recent** experience working in a security related program, specifically associated to physical security controls.
Experience in providing written recommendations to management related to security situations.
*Significant experience is defined as the depth and breadth of knowledge, aptitude and practical ability gained through the performance of these duties for a period of at least two (2) years of experience.
**Recent is defined as experience acquired within the last five (5) years.
Asset Qualifications
Experience:
Experience with security access management systems.
Experience working with security in contracting files.
Experience conducting site security assessments.
Bilingual - Imperative (BBB/BBB)
Information on language requirements
Knowledge:
Knowledge of the TBS Policy on Government Security.
Knowledge of the TBS Directive on Security Management.
Knowledge of the CSE IT Security Directive for the Control of COMSEC Material.
Abilities:
Ability to conduct research, interpret and apply directives and standards.
